Evangelization and Faith Formation (EFF)
Evangelization and Faith Formation (EFF) is a core mission of the Knights of Columbus and a priority within the Wisconsin State Council. EFF efforts help form Catholic men to grow closer to Jesus Christ, strengthen their faith, and become missionary disciples within their families, parishes, and communities.
The Wisconsin EFF program supports councils across the state by promoting Supreme Council faith‑formation initiatives—most notably Cor—and by providing leadership, guidance, and resources to assist councils in carrying out meaningful evangelization efforts.
What Is Evangelization & Faith Formation?
Evangelization and Faith Formation focus on helping men:
- Encounter Jesus Christ more deeply
- Grow in faith and virtue
- Build Christ‑centered brotherhood
- Strengthen their role as Catholic husbands, fathers, and parish men
These efforts are intended to complement, not replace, parish life and existing faith‑based ministries.
Cor: A Supreme Council Initiative
A central component of EFF is Cor, a Supreme Council initiative launched to strengthen Catholic men through a flexible framework of prayer, formation, and fraternity. The word Cor is Latin for “heart,” reflecting the program’s focus on interior conversion and authentic brotherhood.

The Vision of Cor
To transform the hearts of men so they may lead their families, strengthen their parish communities, and courageously evangelize as missionary disciples of Jesus Christ.
Cor gatherings are:
- Open to all men of the parish, not just Knights
- Separate from council business meetings
- Flexible in format while maintaining the three essential elements
- Supported by extensive Supreme‑provided resources

The Wisconsin State Council promotes Evangelization and Faith Formation by:
- Encouraging councils to establish Cor groups
- Supporting district and council EFF leadership
- Sharing Supreme Council tools and guidance
- Coordinating statewide EFF priorities
Information regarding EFF initiatives is shared at diocesean meetings and through State Council communications.
State Evangelization & Faith Formation Director
The State Evangelization and Faith Formation Director serves as the primary point of contact for EFF within Wisconsin. The Director provides guidance, encourages participation in Supreme initiatives, and serves as a resource for councils and districts implementing faith‑formation efforts.
